a. Make, sebeb olmak anlamında iki türlü kullanımı vardır:
i. make + nesne + sıfat
Birthdays parties make me happy.
That horror film made my little sister frightened.
ii) make + nesne + fiil
Credits cards make people buy a lot of things.
Listen.This joke will make you laugh.
Cümlenin öznesi bir kişi ise çoğunlukla zorlamak anlamında kullanılır.

My father made me clean the car yesterday.
b. Diğer ifadeler ve kullanımları :
i) bring about
Eating too much usually brings about fatness.
ii) cause
Loud music can cause headache.
Having a credit card causes my father to spend more money.
iii) result in
Watching too much TV results in eye problems.
iv) lead to
Laziness leads to poverty.
c. make, let and get
i) make someone do something : Birisini birşeuy yapmak için zorlamak.
My father makes me wash his car sometimes. I hate it.
ii) let someone do something: Birisine bir şey yapması için izin vermek.
My father lets me drive his car. Thanx Dad!
iii) get someone to do something : Birisini bir şey yapması için ikna etmek.

My father got met o see the dentist. It was a good idea.
